Bear in mind, the EU nations take up 6% of the world population. We trade with the remaining 94% for FREE. While some may point out that the EU currently ranks unofficially as number one on global nominal listings of Gross Domestic Product, the United Kingdom ranks number five, below China (the nation with the largest population on the planet), Germany & Japan (two of the most major technological exporters in the world), and the United States (the home of capitalism). Not so shabby for a relatively small island in the Atlantic, is it? Actually, it’s nothing short of INCREDIBLE. Britain is still very much a Great nation, with amazing potentials. In actuality, due to our mastery of the tertiary and quaternary sectors of industry (in the service and information management industries), our GDP per person is HIGHER than all the other member states of the EU COMBINED. And that is while we still suffer under massive EU over-regulation.
And in any case, what economist is going to tell us that it makes any sense at all for us to pay our major competitor for the privilege of trading with them?
What Britain Has That the EU Wants
The reality is that between England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, we have a lot going for us.
Our position in relation to Europe, our financial centres, our fisheries (once they are reclaimed from the EU) and North Sea Oil.
Norway, Switzerland and Iceland, three countries that opted not to join the EC, are now some of the most prosperous countries in Europe, with similar resources to our own, and they have a much higher current standard of living and minimum wage than the United Kingdom.
